Megan Coffey joins Game Day Communications after spending eight years covering the Cincinnati Bearcats athletics teams. She managed the video department for seven years, doing everything from livestreaming home events to shooting/producing/editing video content for the GoBearcats website and social media channels. She also spent one year on the communications side, overseeing all PR for women's basketball and volleyball while also maintaining the website and the teams' specific social media channels.

Prior to Cincinnati, she spent five years in Colorado working for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee. She spent two and a half years specifically telling Paralympic athletes' stories and assisting with pushing Paralympic athletes into the spotlight they deserved. She spent the following two years helping to grow the Team USA YouTube and social channels while also bringing U.S. Paralympics under the Olympic umbrella.

Megan considers herself almost chammealoen-like in the media world since she has had her hand in about everything. What she loves the most though is telling stories and being behind the camera, interviewing and capturing moments to remember.

She recently moved to Mt. Washington and is a transplant who moved here in 2014. Although a major Cubs fan, she has grown to love, respect, and even root for all the Cincinnati sports teams. She is also one of the biggest Bearcats fans out there and will talk Cincinnati sports all day if she can. Her new mantra is: My accent may say Chicago, but my heart says Cincinnati.

Outside of work, Megan loves staying active with her friends and the community. She works on the private events team at MadTree, is an avid softball and sand volleyball player, volunteers with the Cincinnati Parks and loves to travel and explore new restaurants and areas in town.

Favorite sports memory

When the Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016. A close second is the Cincinnati Bearcats win over Houston in 2021 to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff.

What is the best single day on the calendar?

Opening Day. It’s not even a contest.

What’s your favorite: coffee, tea, or pop?

Coffee and it's not because of my last name. I love all types of coffee - iced, hot, drip, frappe style. Exploring new coffee places is one of my favorite things to do. My all-time favorite coffee spot so far is Awakenings in Hyde Park. It's the smoothest and best-tasting flavored coffee!

What’s on top of your bucket list?

To visit Italy and/or Croatia and experience the Mediterranean lifestyle, eat the amazing cuisine and explore all the different vineyards. Also near the top is to visit Napa and check out wine country. If you can't tell, I love wine!
