John Cappella [jcappella@gamedaypr.com] is the Vice President of New Media at Game Day Communications. His primary responsibilities have been serving the non-profit and sports clients of the firm including the Anthony Muñoz Foundation, Flying Pig Marathon, Cincinnati Kings, Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum, Reds Community Fund, Miracle League of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and the Marvin Lewis Community Fund. Cappella joined Game Day Communications in January 2004.

His newest role is serving as the Course Director for the Flying Pig Marathon where he will be coordinating all on-course logistics for the marathon. He previously served as the coordinator for the Reds Rookie Success League, the primary outreach program of the Reds Community. He remains involved with the Reds Community Fund as an advisory committee member for some of there events and programs. Cappella is also a volunteer youth basketball coach for the Nativity Parish in Pleasant Ridge.

A member of the inaugural C-Change class in 2006-07, Cappella was part of a group that organized an executive shadowing program for more than 150 young professionals. C-Change is a selective leadership development program for young professionals created by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Cappella attended St. Xavier High School before moving on to Miami University where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. He continued his education at Xavier University earning a Master’s of Education in Sports Administration.
