Game Day honored as Mid Size Agency of the Year

Game Day Communications, a sports and entertainment communications firm founded in 2002 by former ESPN Anchor Betsy Ross, was honored as the Mid Size Agency of the Year in Cincinnati by the Public Relations Society of America, Cincinnati chapter.

GDC also claimed awards for its crisis management for the 2008 Flying Pig Marathon for the “Fire at Mile 22,” for its activation of the 2008 Reds Caravan Tour on behalf of the Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network and for its execution of a satellite media tour for the 2008 Oktoberfest Zinzinnati’s Running of the Wieners.

In 2008, Game Day Communications launched its Digital Media Team leveraging the phenomenon of social media platforms such as Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, Linkedin and Flickr to communicate on behalf of its clients. The Team takes video, photo and/or blogs at events and uploads the content on-site to create an engagement with consumers. Campaigns have been launched for Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce, Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network, Downtown Cincinnati Inc. and the Fine Arts Fund Cincinnati.

Based in downtown Cincinnati on Pete Rose Way, the firm employs six full-time staff and a “street team” of 100+ employees who staff client events and promotions. Firm capabilities include: strategic communications planning/execution, media coaching, event management and staffing and digital media planning/execution.
